Air Conditioning System Design

Our Process

We take pride in our attention to detail when scoping and designing electrical and mechanical systems. We understand that large-scale projects demand significant time and financial commitment, so we ensure our clients feel confident in our ability to deliver even before we begin work.

In this blog, we break down the industrial air conditioning system design and installation process so you can clearly understand what to expect when you work with us.

#1 Site visit and survey:

Our certified experts begin by visiting your site to survey the location.

This step lays the foundation for everything that follows and plays a crucial role in understanding the project. Most buildings prioritise ensuring comfortable airflow for employees and visitors when designing air conditioning systems, but some facilities require more specialised functions. By conducting a site visit and survey, we can fully understand your needs and technical requirements, allowing us to create a bespoke air conditioning system design tailored specifically for you.

#2 Calculate required heating / cooling:

Whether you’re working on a computer or data room, a shop, an office, or an industrial facility, you must accurately calculate the exact heating or cooling needed (the heating/cooling ‘load’), usually based on the space’s area.

We often base our calculations on the floor area but also consider the volume of the space, especially in buildings with high ceilings. We factor in heat transfer through walls, doors, and roofs, as well as existing heating and lighting systems, IT equipment, and occupancy levels. We also take into account the size and orientation of windows.

#3 Discuss options with you:

Now that we have a good understanding of your ‘must-haves’, as well as the capacity requirements, we can move on to identify a range of suitable options.  We work with inverter driven equipment, reverse cycle and air source heat pumps and temperature and humidity controls, using the latest Toshiba and Daikin evaporator and condenser technology.

Air conditioning can be one of the highest energy costs to businesses, particularly in large buildings. When considering your options, we will always ensure that the systems we propose are efficient, thus reducing your carbon footprint, and are designed to work with the shape and natural airflow of your building, which is essential to keeping your energy costs down.

#4 Get to work:

Now it’s time to get to work!  With over 25 years’ experience in the industry, our certified engineers not only know their trade, but they also work hard to go the extra mile. Don’t just take our word for it…

“The engineers that came were polite and respectful to the fact that we work in a really busy dental practice, so they understood our business and they were just hassle-free. We’ve got another three surgeries which we will kit out over the next 12 months and we’ll be going straight to EESI for the air conditioning units. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them for other projects because the experience was so streamlined, it was just brilliant. We would recommend EESI to anyone looking for air conditioning.”
