EESI Completes Control Room & CCTV for Forest Green Rovers Football Club

The Gloucestershire team, famous for being the world’s most sustainable football club and the only vegan club in the English Football League, secured promotion into the Football League last season for the first time in their 128-year history. Due to FA security and safety regulations, the club had to install an IP CCTV system and new Control Room to be eligible to take part in the upcoming season at Forest Green Rovers Football Club.

EESI were asked to carry out the design and installation of the works during the summer in time for pre-season matches and the new season beginning in August.

Several challenges were identified prior to works taking place after productive pre-works consultations between EESI and the club’s management. A tight timescale, health and safety risks; stringent FA and building regulations; and pitch restrictions due to regrowth of the turf were just some of the issues that EESI had to overcome in order to successfully deliver the project.

An elevated opening was created in the stadium’s East Stand for the Control Room. This allowed for a UPVC fire-rated viewing area extension. The new Control Room followed the ethos of the club with energy saving LED lights and an energy efficient heat pump air conditioning unit. A new false ceiling, vinyl flooring and decoration were also completed by EESI.

A total of 30 CCTV cameras were installed in and around the stadium. Specialist PCs and monitors were placed in the Control Room overlooking the stands for Operators to monitor visitor and employee safety, especially on match days.

As well as the CCTV and Control Room works, additional electrical works were completed around the club. Installing power and data sockets to the kitchens, Press Rooms and offices; high level lighting repairs; and installing fire safety magnetic doors to the Green Man Bar were all completed to EESI’s usual exacting standards.

A dedicated Health and Safety Manager, experienced EESI Engineers and specialist lifting equipment were all utilised by EESI to successfully deliver the works on time, within budget and to the highest quality expected by Forest Green Rovers. The club experienced minimal disruption and could focus on the most important matter at hand: football.

Derek Jarman, Managing Director at EESI, was delighted with how the project was managed throughout alongside partners GT Access and is looking forward to seeing The Rovers in action in the upcoming campaign.

“EESI would like to congratulate FGR on their promotion to the Football League and wish them the best of luck for the 2017/2018 season. We would also like to thank GT Access for their continued support in supplying access equipment for the club works, and to many of our valued customers.”
