EESI Group Services won Business of the Year at the Gloucestershire Business Awards 2019 and the team was presented with the trophy at a glittering ceremony at Cheltenham Racecourse. The Gloucestershire Business Awards, run by Reach Plc, owners of Gloucestershire Live, has been running for over two decades and has become a prestigious annual event for the business community.
The Ceremony
The awards ceremony was held at the Centaur at Cheltenham Racecourse on Thursday, 10 October and it was hosted by ‘The Pledge’ and ‘Loose Women’ panellist June Sarpong.
Mike Gardiner, Chairman of EESI Group Services, said: “We were delighted to be shortlisted for Business of the Year, having never submitted an entry for this award before. We thought that during our 25th business anniversary it was a good time to enter.
“But it was a huge surprise and shock when they called our name as the overall winner. We had a fantastic celebration and we are extremely proud to take the trophy back to the office.”
Derek Jarman, Managing Director of EESI Group Services, added: “We would like to thank all our employees for their hard work and dedication without which we wouldn’t have won this award, and to all our clients and friends who have sent us congratulation messages.”
Referring to the award, Gloucestershire Live said about EESI: “For the last 25 years, EESI has been a profitable, sustainable business, retained in the same ownership and supporting local Gloucestershire jobs with a strong commitment to the local community.
“The company originally launched as an electrical contractor with two employees. 25 years later and they have evolved into a leading building services and facilities management company employing 70 people.”
