Commercial dehumidifiers are effective in reducing the level of humidity in an indoor space. The typical cost of running a commercial dehumidifier depends on the size and humidity and temperature of the space in question. Dehumidifiers are not considered ‘particularly’ expensive to run; however the cost is often determined by using the following sum:

Kilowatts x Time used x Cost of power (kW/h) = Cost (during time used)

Typically, the cost of running a commercial dehumidifier is between £3.24 and £9.71 (based on today’s energy prices).

How fast does a commercial dehumidifier work?

Again, this will depend on the size, humidity and temperature of the space in question. Typically, it will take 12 hours before its performance is fully reached, and can often achieve optimal air quality in 24 to 48 hours.

Larger spaces, such as large offices and factories, can take between 2 days to a week to fully optimise air quality.

Does a commercial dehumidifier solve damp issues?

Commercial dehumidifiers help to dry out damp spaces by taking moisture out of the air. If, for example, a building became flooded, a dehumidifier would help in drying out the space. Damp-proofing measures might also be needed, however.

Alternatively, a building might experience continual moisture, and therefore would benefit from having a commercial dehumidifier on a continued basis.
